Proffered Paper Topics

Abstract Submission is now CLOSED
 
In order to develop a stronger and more cohesive program for the 2010 Conference, the National Program Committee has selected a number of topic areas for the proffered paper sessions. We invite abstracts to be submitted relating to the topics listed below. Abstracts that do not relate to one of these topics will also be considered and additional sessions can be developed to include these if sufficiently relevant.
Theme A: Understanding and identifying HIV: Basic Science, Biology and Pathogenesis
 
  1. Basic science session: Insights into HIV pathogenesis that will potentially shape future therapies/interventions.
  2. Translational research session - HIV, immunology and vaccine development: Key groups leaders from the NHMRC HIV Vaccine program grant.
  3. Translational research session - Translation, this will encompass largely; New Diagnostic/prognostic assays and New Therapies &/or microbicides
 
Theme B: Managing HIV: Clinical management and the lived experience of HIV
  1. New and Emerging Treatments
  2. Toxicity Management
  3. Managing Clinically Challenging Patients
  4. Treatment Sequencing and Resistance
Theme C: Preventing HIV
  1. Resurgent Epidemics
  2. Emergent Epidemics
  3. Contained Epidemics
Theme D: HIV in populations
  1. Economics, Development and HIV
  2. Stigma and Discrimination
  3. Cultural and Social Contexts of Biomedical Preventions
