ASHM Early Career Awards

Best Oral presentation for each of the following:

  • Clinical Management and Therapeutics
  • Discovery and Translational Science
  • Prevention, Epidemiology and Public Health
  • Social, Political and Cultural Aspects

Winners for the Early Career Awards Prizes will be announced in the HIV&AIDS closing plenary.
The winner receives a free registration for the Australasian HIV&AIDS Conference 2025. 

ASHM Peoples Choice Award 

The ASHM People's Choice Award invites attendees to vote for the best poster through a democratic process. The winning poster, determined by popular vote, not only recognizes outstanding contributions but also rewards the winner with a prize, fostering a spirit of engagement and appreciation within the conference’s community.  


Levinia Crooks Emerging Leaders Award

For over 30 years Levinia took an active role in recognising especially emerging leaders within the BBV/STI and viral hepatitis field, and had personally mentored many talented individuals, researchers and practitioners. Two awards are given annually as a way of honouring her legacy and recognising her significant contribution to our sector.

Applications are now open for the Levinia Crooks Emerging Leader Award. If you know an up-and-coming leader with up to ten years of experience in blood-borne viruses, HIV, STIs, or sexual and reproductive health, nominate them today.Winners will receive flights, accommodation and registration to the upcoming Australasian HIV&AIDS Conference in September this year, as well as the opportunity to present their work at the conference.
